parents as good role models nowadays?

As i was walking back home today, there was this father and son walked past me..the little boy was only around 5 yrs old. The only thing that caught my attention was the father had a cigarette in his hand..smoking away! this may be a normal sight, but i felt so sad for this boy.. even walking past smokers outside my school or anywhere else, the smell is so terrible..i would either avoid them or quickly walk past them..

yet this boy has been exposed to this smell..or observing his dad smoking since he was younger. He may not know what is this thing that his dad is holding all the while..but children at this age are good at imitating whatever they see people around them do. as he grows up, he may just gif it a try out of curiosity..saying "Dad, smoking is worth trying! It's so cool to smoke in front of my frens.. oh dad, thx for the cigarette!".. and the worse part is..the dad will always tell their children " You must never touch a cigarette! smoking is bad, bad..very bad for ur health!!"??


these innocent children don't know the consequences of being a second-hand smoker..but i believe the parents know this fact. I've wondered why they are the ones smoking and cause more harm to us 2nd hand smokers..so i found out that there's a filter on the cigarette when they smoke..but as for 2nd hand smokers..we directly inhale the harmful smoke they breathed out..



Parents are the ones who are in closest contact with the child ever since their birth day..to me, smoking is something they should avoid infront of their children..or even for the sake of their children..the little angels in their life..the love for them..

to quit smoking..
